Le vecchie opere multimediali degli anni 1990 e 2000 pubblicate su CD ROM, difficilmente si possono navigare on line. Quando non ci siano incompatibilità con i sistemi operativi odierni, si possono però scaricare e far girare sui computer, Windows, Apple, a volte tutti e due, con un clic sull'icona del "player" all'interno della cartella che li contiene. Ne vale la pena. Può succedere, se erano regolati per girare a schermo intero, che le immagini, giuste sui vecchi monitor 4:3, sugli attuali 16:9 possano apparire innaturalmente larghe e schiacciate. In questo caso si dovrebbe regolare la "aspect ratio" (il formato) sul monitor. Nessun problema se invece era previsto che si svolgessero dentro una finestra.
